It's my birthday, and I can sigh if I want to...

I didn't say "cry" because I've actually felt really good today (minus that charley horse in my leg at 3:30 this morning).

So now I'm old. Except that I'm not, but I have done some reflecting on what I've done with my life up to this point. What have I done with my life? I stole this list from my sister-in-law, Laura.

What I've done is Bolded.

01. Sang the National Anthem at a public event- (not as the featured singer, but I sang it every time at the BYU football games when I was down on the field for color guard)
02. Swam with wild dolphins
03. Climbed a mountain (hiked one, not really climbed)
04. Taken a Ferrari for a test drive
05. Been inside the Great Pyramid
06. Held a tarantula (at my Primary teacher's house... I was 7, I think)
07. Won a pie eating contest, or any eating contest (I'm hoping rootbeer float drinking contests count)
08. Said “I love you’ and meant it
09. Hugged a tree (if you haven't, you have no heart)
10. Bungee jumped
11. Visited Paris
12. Watched a lightning storm
13. . Seen the Northern Lights
14.Stayed up all night long and saw the sun rise- I've woken up early for the sunrise, though.
15. Gone to a huge sports game (Go Cougs!)
16. Walked the stairs to the top of the leaning Tower of Pisa
17. Grown and eaten your own vegetables
18. Touched an iceberg
19. Slept under the stars- only ever in a tent
20. Changed a baby’s diaper
21. Taken a trip in a hot air balloon- oh I so want to do that!
22. Watched a meteor shower- I love cosmic events
23. Gotten drunk on slurpees
24. Given more than you can afford to charity-
25. Looked up at the night sky through a telescope- BYU planetarium date
26. Had an uncontrollable giggling fit at the worst possible moment (probably not the worst, but that silent part in Fellowship of the Ring where the Ringwraiths are about to stab the hobbits in their sleep at the inn---yes. Don't sit by me in the movie theater)
27. Had a food fight
28. Overcome a fear (fear of failing, public speaking, fear of confronting people)
29. Asked out a stranger- but I have said yes to a stranger asking me on a date.
30. Had a snowball fight
31. Screamed as loudly as you possibly can
32. Held a lamb- but I have petted a llama
33. Seen a total eclipse-(through a cardboard box)
34. Ridden a roller coaster
35. Hit a home run (at softball practice...)
36. Danced like a fool and not cared who was looking (I was caught by the ESL teacher today doing this)
37. Adopted an accent for an entire day (does SYL at the MTC count?)
38. Actually felt happy about your life
39. Had two hard drives for your computer- I guess partitioned drives don't count
40. Visited all 50 states
41. Can recite something over 100 words long
42. Have amazing friends
43. Danced with a stranger in a foreign country- but a man in Germany did ask me to go with him to his cabin in Ireland...I didn't go, though.
44. Watched wild whales
45. Stolen a sign- crosswalk flags probably don't count
46. Backpacked in Europe
47. Taken a road-trip
48. Gone rock climbing
49. Midnight walk on the beach
50. Gone sky diving

53. In a restaurant, sat at a stranger’s table and had a meal with them

71. Played some sort of game for more than 6 hours straight (this made possible by Nintendo)

77. Made cookies from scratch (recipe memorized: check)
78. Won first prize in a costume contest
79. Ridden a gondola in Venice

82. Been on television news programs as an “expert”
83. Got flowers for no reason

85. Been to Las Vegas

87. Eaten shark
88. Stood up for something against the crowd

90. Bought a house- I'm actually really afraid for that to happen in the future.
91. Been in a combat zone- during combat? because I've been to plenty of battlefields
92. Buried one/both of your parents
93. Been on a cruise ship
94. Spoken more than one language fluently- pig latin doesn't count?
95. Asked someone for forgiveness and received it
96. Raised children
97. Followed your favorite band/singer on tour
99. Taken an exotic bicycle tour in a foreign country
100. Picked up and moved to another city to just start over- college doesn't count, does it? it pretty much forces you to start over
101. Walked the Golden Gate Bridge- but I have ridden across it
102. Sang loudly in the car, and didn’t stop when you knew someone was looking
103. Had plastic surgery
104. Survived an accident that you shouldn’t have survived
105. Wrote articles for a large publication (they're written, but not published)
106. Lost over 100 pounds
107. Held someone while they were having a flashback
108. Piloted an airplane
109. Petted a stingray

112. Won money on a T.V. game show
113. Broken a bone
115. Lived longer than a year in another country
116. Fired a rifle, shotgun, or pistol

119. Had major surgery- (born with a broken heart...)
120. Had a snake as a pet
121. Hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon
122. Slept for more than 30 hours over the course of 48 hours
123. Visited more foreign countries than U.S. states
124. Visited all 7 continents
125. Taken a canoe trip that lasted more than 2 days
126. Eaten kangaroo meat
127. Eaten sushi

129. Changed someone’s mind about something you care deeply about

134. Read The Iliad (I've even read the first page or so in its original Greek)

137. Skipped all your school reunions-haven't had one yet- unless you count the 3.5 year reunion of bar hopping that I missed this Thanksgiving.

142. Had to put someone you love into hospice care
143. Built your own PC from parts- not my own.
144. Sold your own artwork to someone who didn’t know you
145. Had a booth at a fair- I've manned one, though

148. Shaved your head
149. Caused a car accident (I was walking across the street- a car stopped for me to cross, but the car behind that one didn't notice and rear-ended the other one)

150. Saved someone’s life (I've prayed for many people, though, and I think that's good)

So I've obviously not done enough with my life, but I do feel my life is very satisfying. I'm very excited about this upcoming birth and I'm so glad to be married to McKay. We live comfortably and I have a degree. I think I've accomplished a lot.

Woohoo! 22! (McKay's turning 25- now that's old!)

  3. The home makeover is all filmed, but it's on McKay's laptop, which I can't get out of his hands (finals are next week)!
