Ok. For a little venting:
1) I have not gotten sleep lately! Arg! The past few mornings I've woken up around 5 and have not been able to get back to sleep. Today, though, around 6:15 I was able to get back to sleep, but not for long. I had a nap a couple of days ago and that was good. It's not like I'm staying up too late... 9:30/10ish. I just don't know what it is. I hope I fall asleep in class... I mean... I hope I can be awake for my enlightening Humanities 202 class.
2) Lunchables, while very tasty and make my tummy feel good, are mean. I mean the company in charge of lunchables is mean. How am I supposed to make sure I eat lots of protein if they won't even give me all my meat? You see it, don't you? My meat was chopped off in an unfair way!
Well, I'm not actually that angry. I'm just really tired... I don't feel like writing a paper or taking a test. And tonight, we're supposed to go camping... I don't know how seeing as we don't have a tent.
At least we get to substitute teach the Sunbeams on Sunday. I'm looking forward to that, especially since it means a change of pace. I need that. And a job. I need a job, too. If anyone has any good job ideas, let me know.

Ok. So here we go.
1st- 20pts go to Lori for I ran next to eight ugly joggers. This was probably the simplest phrase/sentence and I liked that.
2nd- 14 pts go to Mom for Inmates riot nonstop through evening using jacko'lanterns!!! Jack-o-lanterns? Yes, please!
3rd- 8 pts go to Robin for In Retrospect, Never Terminate Employment Unless Jeopardized. Too true.
So our top 3 people are:
3rd place: Summers Camp and The Writ Wit (well, that's lucky prize-wise)
2nd place: Dad
and finally, 1st,
Prices will be sent out by Wednesday. They will be gift certificates for a restaurant that's in your area, so Summer's Camp, I need to know what sorts of restaurants there are in California where you live. I think I can guess my parents' pretty well.
Wow. When I first started this, I did not mean to look so swayed by family members. May it's because I grew up in their house, so I like their humor; I don't know. But thanks to everybody for playing. I'll probably do another contest in the nearish future, but I would like a break. Contest = required blogging and I haven't been able to write much about stuff I really want to post about, so a small contest break, but I'm sure in the next month or two there'll be another contest of sorts. Maybe I'll host it on my knitting blog.

ndOk. From Wednesday's game we get:
1st place- 10pts to Queen Meadow for What a Terrible, Underhanded, Not-nice, Thing!!
2nd place -7 pts to Robin for We Tried an Unusually Nasty Trick
3rd place- 4 pts to Dad for Wearing torn underwear never tickles
It wasn't until I read which names were associated with each of these that I noticed it went in order. McKay had them all mixed up for me... It's great that weird things like that are statistically possible, huh?
And from Thursday, we have:
1st place- 10pts to Summer's Camp for Kenobi Recoils Inside Vaulted Tower because I like Star Wars
2nd place - 7pts to Queen Meadow for Klingon Ritual that Induces Vulcan Tremors. because I like Star Trek
3rd place - 4 pts to Mom for Kitten rides in van tailpipe
And the new letters!
Everyone is doing so well! I'm really excited for this! Also, don't forget: tomorrow's acronym will be the last. Maybe I'll up the point values for the last day. :)
Oh and cool news: We saw Harry Potter last night! hehehe

Here are today's letters. I don't have time to judge yesterday's entries yet because I have a paper to write before this afternoon, so all my energies are being directed to that. Apologies, but I'll get the judged by this evening.
I hope the V does as well as it did the other day. I was so excited to pull that letter out.
Wednesday, July 11, 2007
But here we go:
1st place: 10pts to Mom for Evil voles: night time nuisances!! I, myself, would not like to run into a posse of evil voles...
2nd place: 7pts to Dad for Every Virtue needs tender nurturing. It's very true, and it seems mine need more nurturing than time allots for them....
3rd place: 4pts to Summer's Camp for Eccentric Vietnamese Noodles Turned Nasty. Eccentric? Hmm? Do the noodles not shower? Do they leave the house with two different colors of sock on?
And for the new letters! Five is such a good amount!

This is for anyone interested in my life instead of the contest.
I am currently taking 3 classes (though I was originally planning on 1) and I'll graduate in August. My current job is running out of money to pay me, so I'm attempting to set up another job. I have 2 interviews schedules (July 18 and August 1). I also was promised a call back for a job to schedule another interview sometime in the next week and a half.
Meanwhile, I'm knitting and researching for Project: Pigeon Hole, which is the reason I was gone last Friday. I also need to do the dishes. It's either that or wait for my home teachers to ask, "Is there anything we can do for you?"
"Why, yes, actually! That pile of dishes there..."
Here we go again!
1st- 10pts to Mom for Batman, Robin Escape Deadly Injury... Sounded like a cool headline to me.
2nd- 7pts to Summers Camp for Branded Radishes Endure Diabolical Injustice (poor radishes!)
3rd- 4pts to NH Knitting Mama for Beetles React: Even Digesting Insecticide
And the new letters: E-V-N-T-N
ooh a V!

Don't forget that this Saturday is the last day of the contest. The Winner(s) will be announced Monday morning.
About the weekend: I'm doing alright, very busy, looking for a job, you know the regulars. I look forward to actually blogging once this week of crazy school work is done!

Apologies from yesterday. I left the house at 6:30 in the morning, had no Internet access all day, came back at 4:45pm and then went to pick McKay up from w0rk and bought movie tickets to see TRANSFORMERS! Well, by the time the movie was over, we hadn't had dinner yet and I was too tired to make anything, so we did fast food. Don't worry, Beth. I got a kids meal with applesauce instead of fries. :)
Anyway, I had gotten a lot of sun yesterday and was very drained and so I didn't look at the results until this morning. I think for today's acronym I'm going to move it up to 5 letters!
1st- Politcal Oppression Never ceases: 10pts to Dad
2nd- Problematic Ostriches need Correction: 7 pts to the Writ Wit (I just like ostriches)
3rd- Protect our nice cheese: 4pts to Queen Meadow
Gosh, this is fun!
And today's acronym. Scrabble has a lot of vowels...
Friday, July 06, 2007
I haven't looked at the contest entries yet from Thursday. However, I'm leaving at 6:30 this morning before I can have McKay read them off to me (he's asleep), so you may not find out until later. I'll try to work things out with McKay about this.
On to Salt Lake City!
Thursday, July 05, 2007
With thanks to my Dad, any and all impartial judgment was thrown out the window. Oh, well. Kudos to him and so he'll get first place today. However, to everyone for future notice, referencing yourself in the acronym makes it very difficult to be a good judge and so please don't.
10 pts to my dad for FATHER loves (loses) acronym game.
7 pts to The Writ Wit for French Like Anything Gourmet.
4 pts to Meg for Fatal Lectures About Grammar.
And, of course, the 1 pt for playing!
Today's letters are P-O-N-C. Have fun with them!
Wednesday, July 04, 2007
Apologies for getting this up late; we slept in because of the holiday.
Ok, ok. So the results from yesterday's acronym!
- 10pts to the Writ Wit for United Brotherhood of Lederhosen Survivors. I kept imagining some guys sitting around in a lodge discussing their previous woes of lederhosen. Also, I noticed this after I decided results (because I don't read the comments myself): Did you change your profile pic just for the contest?
- 7 points to Robin and NH Knitting Mama, for Underwater Brigand of Lost Sailors and Unbelievable Blue-Light Specials, respectively.
- 4 points to Silent Five for Underdone Biscuits Lead to Salmonella. Too true, too true. Except I don't put eggs in my biscuits...
And before I get a phone call from my parents, I really, truly did this impartially. And I did like yours from the day before... Almost Everyone Knocks. That one was good.
And I know I said there wouldn't be an acronym today, but this is so much fun! However, because of the holiday, I won't be pulling the letters from the scrabble letter bag.
Today's acronym: F-L-A-G.
Have a good fourth!
Tuesday, July 03, 2007
First, the results from yesterday. It was very hard to pick; you have no idea. So many wonderful acronyms! We'll here are our standings:
1st- Summers Camp with Amiable Eels Kiss
2nd- Queen Meadow with Anaconda Eat Krill
3rd- Robin with Artificial Egg Kiosk
So the scores are now:
10- Summers Camp
7- Queen Meadow
1- NH Knitting Mama
1- The Writ Wit
1- Rick, my brother
That's after Day 1, and anything can happen for the rest of these two weeks. Also, if you are just finding out about the competition today, there will still be many opportunities for points to come! All is not lost!
Acronym for Day 2: U B L S
Oh man! We're up to 4 letters now! Ok. Ok. 3 letters bore me. I thought 4 would make it more exciting.
Monday, July 02, 2007
Ok. So here's today's acronym! Remember the rules!
To be completely impartial, I will not check my comments myself. I'll have my husband at the end of the day read off your ideas at random and I'll pick from there. That way there is no way I could favor one person over the others.
Ok, here we go!
